This week we wrapped up our hockey unit with some 3 on 3 games. Students had a chance to use the skills they have been practicing such as stickhandling, passing, shooting and teamwork in game situations. The energy in the gym was high and everyone did a fantastic job showing respect, safety and effort. Hockey has been a fun unit and it was exciting to finish it off with games that let students put everything together. - Mr. van Sluys

This week in PE, we are wrapping up our hockey unit. Students have been practicing key skills such as stick handling, passing, shooting, and moving safely in shared space. It’s been great to see their confidence grow as they put these skills together during drills and small games. Next week, we’ll take things a step further by using our skills in 3 on 3 hockey games. Playing in smaller teams gives everyone more touches on the puck, more chances to make decisions, and lots of opportunities to practice teamwork and sportsmanship in a game setting. We’re looking forward to some fun, fast-paced games as students apply what they’ve learned to finish off the unit strong. - Mr. van Sluys

Hello! Sorry for the late blog post. Friday was a busy day with meetings after school, and I left without posting a blog. Here is this week's blog: Welcome back everyone! It’s great to be back in the gym and moving together again after the break. This week in PE we kicked things off with floor hockey. We spent time learning and practicing how to properly hold a hockey stick, focusing on safe grip and control. Students worked on basic stickhandling skills through a variety of drills that helped them keep the puck close, move with control, and build confidence. We also played some fun games that let students put their new skills into action. It was a fun and energetic start to our floor hockey unit, and the students showed great effort and enthusiasm. We’re looking forward to building on these skills in the coming weeks! - Mr. van Sluys
