We had amazing weather for our Terry Fox Run this week!  It was so great to see everyone push themselves to achieve their goals during the run, and even if they didn't achieve their goals at least they tried their best!  Try Your Best is our first rule in the gym, and we talk about how important it is quite often.  If you try your best you will: get great exercise, get better at the skills, and have fun!

Many students were excited to show me how many laps they ran, and I was impressed with the numbers.  Each lap was nearly 400m, so if your son or daughter ran 5 laps that equals 2 kilometres. Some students were able to get 10 laps (and more), which was a whopping 4 kilometres.  Not bad for a 21 minute run!

For the next two weeks Physical Education will take place outside because the gym is being used for the grade 3/4 Alien Inline Residency.  So please come everyday prepared to get active outside with close toed shoes (i.e. no crocs or sandals), sweaters, jackets, and mitts and toques if needed.  Thank you!

If your son or daughter is in grade 3 or 4, our inline skating residency starts first thing next week.   Students are reminded to bring a CSA approved helmet on the days when they skate (no hockey helmets or full face helmets).  It would also be helpful if students knew their shoe size so that they are quickly able to get a pair of skates.  Please see the schedule below to know when your son or daughter will be skating.  Thank you!
