This week PE had to take place in the hallways from Wednesday to Friday due to the Christmas concert set-up in the gym. But we made the best of situation and played some fun games in the hallway. Students particularly enjoyed Winter Wonderland, a relay style game where students had to complete some exercises in order to collect items. They then used the items to create a wintry/Christmasty sculpture. Students created all sorts of interesting scultptures using typical PE equipment.
Frisbee Fun in the Sun!
We’ve been soaking up the sunshine this week in PE as students practiced their frisbee throwing skills! Our focus was on both distance and accuracy, and students worked hard on improving their control, aim, and teamwork. We started with some drills to practice longer throws and catching on the move. Once everyone was warmed up, we played Leapfrog Touchdowns , a fast-paced game where teams tried to complete passes and make it into the endzone without dropping the frisbee. Students had to communicate, move into open space, and anticipate each other's throws — great practice for both skills and teamwork! Next, we played Rock the Pylon , an accuracy-based game where students earned points by either hitting the pylon directly or landing their frisbee inside the circle around it.
