Frisbees, Teamwork, and 4 Corner Hockey Frenzy

Hello families,

This week in PE, we had plans to get outside and dive into frisbee skills, building toward a fun introduction to disc golf. However, the smoke in the air kept us indoors for most of the week.  But we made the most of our time and kept the energy high!

We were lucky enough to spend Tuesday outside, where students learned the basics of tossing and catching a frisbee. We practiced stepping with our opposite foot, aiming our throws, and making soft catches. It was great to see students encouraging one another and celebrating even the small improvements.

Back indoors, we shifted gears and played a fast-paced and exciting game called 4 Corner Hockey Frenzy. In this game, students worked in teams to score goals in other teams’ nets while also defending their own. The twist? Each goal scored earned their team a small item, and the team with the most collected items by the end won the round! It was a great way to promote teamwork, quick thinking, and lots of movement—all while having a blast.

We’ll keep an eye on the air quality and get back to frisbee skills outdoors as soon as we can. Thanks for supporting active learning, rain, shine, or smoke!

Stay active,
Marc van Sluys
