This week in PE, we continued building on our lacrosse skills with all K–4 classes. After learning the basics last week, students were ready to try some exciting new techniques like cradling and shooting.
We introduced cradling, which helps players keep control of the ball while moving. To practice this skill, students played a favourite game called British Bulldog, where they had to cradle the ball while moving safely across the gym without losing control. It was a fun way to build confidence and coordination.
Students also worked on shooting by playing Shoot for Treasure. A variety of targets were set up around the gym, and students aimed, shot, and tried to win treasure by hitting the targets. This helped them practice accuracy, power, and proper shooting form.
It was a fantastic week of progress, and students are really starting to feel more comfortable with their lacrosse sticks and skills. We’re looking forward to introducing passing and maybe some small-sided games next!
