Another Great Week

This week in PE, we learned how to play 4 Square and explored some other fun games that students can enjoy during recess. We also played a game called Crazy Ball Knockdown, where students practiced their overhand throwing skills, focusing on proper technique, including stepping forward with the opposite foot when throwing. It was a fun way to build our throwing skills while getting active!

Next week, we will be doing PE outside, so please make sure students are dressed appropriately for the weather.

Our next community walk will take place on Wednesday, October 7.

  The first two weeks of PE are already in the books! During our first week, we focused on getting back into the swing of things by practicing our routines and expectations for PE. We worked on things like entering and leaving the gym, listening for instructions, using equipment safely, and making the gym a positive place for everyone to learn and have fun. This week, we turned our attention to Terry Fox. Students learned about Terry’s incredible story, his Marathon of Hope, and his goal of raising money for cancer research. We also began some running training to help get ready for our school Terry Fox Run on September 23. Students are encouraged to bring in toonies for Terry as we work together to support the Terry Fox Foundation. Every little bit helps, and it’s great to see our students learning about the importance of perseverance, kindness, and giving back to our community.
